Bryan and Sara’s Wedding Afghan

Every couple needs at least one crocheted afghan to snuggle under! Whether curled up on the couch, sitting by a fire, or taking a walk outside, a soft blanket is great to have wrapped around you.

When my friend, Sara, announced her engagement I knew her wedding present would have to be an afghan! I was so excited when she asked me to be in her bridal party and sent me a picture of the wedding  colors. With the help of her sister, we chose the perfect match to use for her and Bryan’s blanket!

Since she is a country girl at heart and they love the outdoors I started searching for a pattern that wasn’t too frilly, but still had a nice simple design. I finally decided on the October pattern published by Leisure Arts in Birthstone Afghans. It ended up being a perfect match for what I had in mind, plus their wedding date is set for then as well!

Using their pale blue and tan wedding colors, it made a beautiful afghan!

Sara’s bridal shower was a few weeks ago, and both her and Bryan loved it! I look forward to seeing it in their new home together ! :)

  1. I have never made this one but of all the books I have I have saved the Birthstone Afghan one as my favorite one. I have made December afghan several times in different yarns with different looking results. I knew when I saw your October I should know what it was Nice job and I am sure you will make it again over the years as I have done also
