Crochet Flower Pattern for Jayna’s Princess Sandals

In my last blog post I shared pictures from one of my recent baby sets that I made for a friend. I have gotten a lot of requests for the pattern to make the little shoes I call “Jayna’s Princess Sandals“.

For the shoe I used the Simply Summer Sandals 101 pattern by Two Girls Patterns. I liked their idea to add a flower to the top, but for my friend’s baby girl I had something more dainty in mind than the layered petals included in their pattern.

After experimenting a bit I came up with my own little flower to add to the shoes. It is very simple and quite easy if you know a few basic stitches!

Materials: Steel crochet hook – Size 7
Crochet thread

Ch 2
Round 1: 5 sc in second chain from hook, join with sl st to 1st sc.
Round 2: Ch 1, 2 sc in each st around, join with sl st to 1st sc (10 sc in round).
Round 3: Ch 1, *(sc, hdc, 2dc) in first st, (1dc, hdc, sc) in next **, repeat from * around.
Join with sl st and fasten off!

Like I said, it’s very simple and I found it to be easy to make as well. For the flower center on Jayna’s Princess Sandals, I added a little crochet ball, but you can use beads, pearls, or anything you like to fit your project. You can also make small or large flowers using this pattern depending on the yarn and size hook you use!

Here are a few step-by-step pictures to help out along the way!
